PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compare a fingerprint image to be checked up with a registered fingerprint image with full identification accuracy, even if the characteristic point is not clear and only the partial fingerprint image as an object to be checked up in a fingerprint identifying device for identifying an individual using a fingerprint image. SOLUTION: In identifying an individual by comparing the partial fingerprint image data B of a user to be identified, which is entered from the small fingerprint reading device of a cellular phone terminal 11 with the whole fingerprint image A of the user registered in the registered fingerprint data base of a fingerprint registering and identification station device 14, the identify of an individual is certified by judging the identification of the checked fingerprint to the registered fingerprint by comparing the mutual positional relation of each template region with the mutual position relation of each maximum correlative domain, which is detected from each image data of a plurality of a template regions tm and t1 to tn, which are arranged to be compared in the partial fingerprint image B and the fingerprint image A, in which each of the maximum correlation regions TM and T1 to Tn having a maximum correlation relation. |
