PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a high sliding noise restraint effect, and a brush and a brush assembly of long life. SOLUTION: Two protruding sections 19, 20 disposed side by side in the axial direction of the motor are formed at the front end 22 of the brush 16. The protruding heights of the two protruding sections are different from each other. The large protruding section 19 with large protruding height is on the upper side, and the small protruding section 20 with small protruding height is on the lower end side. An angle R1 of a virtual line L1 connecting the front end of the large protruding section 19 with the front end of the small protruding section 20 to an orthogonal line L2 orthogonal to the axial direction of the brush 16 is set larger than an angle R2 (R1>R2) which permits the brush 16 to incline to the maximum within a brush holder 2.
