PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile terminal that conducts decoding and coding of image data in parallel without decreasing at least either of the processing rate of the coding and decoding. SOLUTION: A CPU 17 as well as a codec IC 15 applies coding and decoding to image data, respective priorities are placed on a memory transmission job, a print job, and a direct transmission job and the codec IC 15 with a faster processing rate is assigned to the job with the highest priority. Thus, while conducting the coding and decoding of the image data of two jobs in parallel, the image data with the job having a higher priority can be processed without decreasing of the processing rate.
