SOLUTION: A branching filter 2 has a horizontally polarized wave output terminal and a vertically polarized wave output terminal, and relatively varies the polarized wave of the received signal Sr by being driven with a polarized wave rotary device 3. An angle detector 4 detects the rotary angle of the branching filter 2. A changeover device 5 selects either of the horizontally polarized wave output terminal and the vertically polarized wave output terminal of the branching filter 2. A receiver 6 detects a received level of the output terminal selected by the changeover device 5. An arithmetic unit (CPU) 72 of an arithmetic controller 7 controls the polarized wave rotary device 3 to drive the branching filter 2 within a prescribed angular range and to respectively acquire the received level data of horizontally and vertically polarized waves with respect to the rotary angle and to store them to a memory 74, calculates the optimum angle of the branching filter 2 maximizing the received levels by means of the least square method on the basis of the stored data to set the branching filter 2 to have an optimum angle.
