An abrasive particle spray-gun (8) has a particle container (9). A air filter unit (5) has its input connected by a flexible pipe to a compressed air reservoir (4) and its output is connected by an extensible flexible pipe to an air input orifice of the spray-gun. The filter unit includes two filters. an oil and water filter (5a) and an oil and water vapor filter (5b). The unit has a clip for fitting onto the belt of the operator. It includes a motor driven air compressor (2), a compressed air reservoir (3) connected to the compressor and a pneumatic spray-gun (8). The abrasive is a fine powder of material such as chalk with a hardness less than 10 mhos and having a particle size less than 200 micro-meters. For a projection with an air pressure of 5 bars (8 bars maximum), the section of the spray-gun's ceramic bus pipe is 5 mm.
