PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily, accurately, and automatically adjust the relative positions (angle) of the image pickup optical system of an image pickup means according to the operation instructions (parameter) set by an operator. SOLUTION: Before starting standard control, the operator inputs an instruction according to the intension for shooting, concretely setting 'depth of field' and/or 'focusing region', thus adjusting the relative positions between the image pickup element 1 and the optical system 8 by drive means 11 and 12.
