PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accelerating tube, attaining smaller size by adopting an inner cooling system, allowing easy machining of a connection face, and allowing perfect connection, without causing vacuum leaks. SOLUTION: In this accelerator, a wall part constituting the cavity periphery of an acceleration cavity block 20 is formed thick, and the peripheral thick wall part is formed with plural cooling passages 24, such that the cooling passages 24 penetrate the wall part along the beam axial direction and that the cooling passages 24 can communicate between the acceleration cavity blocks 20 which are disposed in series. The peripheral thick part apart from the passage formation position is cut planarly, such that an opening planar part of a coupling cavity block 30 can be connected to the planarly-cut part. More specifically, the inner circumferential side or the outer circumferential side of the planarly-cut part of the peripheral cavity part is made to be recessed or projected, such that the recessed (projected) part is an engagedly recessed (projecting) part which is engageable with the planar connection part of the coupling cavity block 30.
