SOLUTION: In a wavelength multiplex transmission system, an optical transmitter comprises an optical transmission part of an operation system and the optical transmission part of a standby system, and a transmission signal to be transmitted is distributed into a plurality of wavelength components and is converted into WDM signals to transmit to a WDM transmission net. An optical receiver comprises the optical reception part of the operation system and the optical reception part of the standby system, and the WDM signals from the WDM transmission net are returned to transmission signals. The optical transmission part of the operation system and/or the optical transmission part of the standby system has an obstacle evasion means inside the optical transmission part for evading an obstacle inside the optical transmission part during the transmission obstacle of the wavelength components of a predetermined number or less.
