PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it necessary to immediately develop a technique of high speed cableless optical communication with a large capacity. SOLUTION: This electronic equipment is provided with an optical signal transmitting means, an optical signal receiving means, and a connecting part capable of connecting/releasing connection with the connecting part of the other electronic equipment. The connecting part is allowed to connect with the connecting part of the other electronic equipment so that an optical signal transmission space can be formed between the electronic equipment and the other electronic equipment. This electronic equipment is provided with a shielding mechanism for shielding an optical signal outputted from the optical signal transmitting means when the connecting part is turned into a non-connecting state with the connecting part of the other electronic equipment so that any optical signal can be prevented from outgoing to the outside part of the electronic equipment, and for releasing the shielding only when the connecting part is turned into a connecting state with the connecting part of the other electronic equipment. This optical component is housed in a casing which is allowed to function as the connecting part at the time of integrating elements or optical components constituting the optical signal transmitting means or the optical signal receiving means into the electronic equipment, and integrated into a module.
