<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display the performance effect of the depth of field easily, when the object model arranged in a virtual three-dimensional space is displayed on a monitor. SOLUTION: A translucent processing is performed by a translucent section 132c, utilizing a frame buffer 81 in which a lettering image is written, a Z-value memory 81 storing a distance Z from the visual point of a virtual camera for each pixel, pixel data comprising pixels read out at its pixel order position and averaged by a filter 132b, original pixels and transparency. If the distance of the pixel data obtained by the performance of a translucent process from the visual point of the virtual camera is not less than a specified depth z, the pixel data after processing is written in the same pixel position as that of the frame buffer 81. This process is repeated number of times of specified circulation for each circulation process with the depth z and transparency upgraded in this order, and then is led to the monitor 2.
