PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data format checker capable of automatically judging propriety of a format of data to be used in a program irrespective of presence/ absence and correctness/incorrectness of a comment sentence and a storage medium to constitute the checker. SOLUTION: A parameter file in which the contents of the table 2 are stored are stored is inputted in the data format checker. Then, the data format checker detects the presence/absence of codes, the number of bytes, the presence/absence of arrays, the number of dimensions and the presence/absence of additional information of the data to be tested based on the description of a data name and a data main body. And the contents of the table 2 is compared with a detection result and judges with what format the data to be checked coincides. When there is the format with which the data coincides, the number of axes, a range of the additional information and arrangement of data elements are checked. Thus, check of the format is enabled even without the comment sentence if the parameter file is inputted.
