PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the waiting time required before the playback of a desired CD is started. SOLUTION: By a control part 10A, when the CD 4R (originally housed in a holder 3S) set on a disk playback part 6 is exchanged to the next desired CD 4P housed in a holder 3Q, the distance S' to the holder 3S in the clockwise from the exchanging position on a rotary stocker 1 rotating up to the standby position and the distance T' to the vacant holder 3T closest to the counterclockwise side with respect to the holder 3Q are compared, and when T'< S' (T'>=S'), a rotation part 5 is controlled to rotate the rotary stocker 1 counterclockwise until the holder 3T(3S) comes to the exchanging position, and a loading part 7 is controlled to house the CD 4R in the holder 3T(3S) from the disk playback part 6. Next, the rotary stocker 1 is rotated until the holder 3Q comes to the exchanging position, and the CD 4P is loaded on the disk playback part 6 for the playback operation from the holder 3Q, then, the rotary stocker 1 is rotated to the prescribed standby position.
