PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a user who is unfamiliar with retrieval reaches correct information by trial and error when looking for the information on the Internet and it takes a long time to gain access itself to a site. SOLUTION: When a retrieval part 18 obtains a desired page, a meta- information generation part 28 analyzes its contents and adds and stores meta- information in a cache memory 32. Then when the user detects similar information, a cache retrieval part 24 reads the page out of the cache memory 32 by referring to the previously added meta-information and presents it to the user on condition that the desired page is already cached.
