PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resist a noise or deformation and to suppress the discontinuous color tone change on a border part of an image in joint processing of the image. SOLUTION: This method comprises a process for calculating the mean value of densities of each pixel on a joint line of two images, and applying the mean value as a new density value of each pixel on the joining line, a process for calculating the density difference between the original density of the pixel and the mean value, and a process in which pixels on the joining line in the prescribed range from an aimed pixel are defined as reference pixels, and the weighted mean of the density differences corresponding to each reference pixel is determined, by using the weight corresponding to the difference between the reference pixel and the aimed pixel relative to each pixel (target pixel) in the near region of the joining line on each image, and the weighted mean value is added to the density of the aimed pixel, and the result is used as the new density value of the aimed pixel. |
