PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network system that reconfigures a transmission path so as to ensure communication on the occurrence of a fault in the transmission path of a network. SOLUTION: Hubs 2a-2d and a node device 10 are connected in a ring by a transmission line 3. First and second ports 16, 17 of the node device 10 are usually open. The hubs 2a-2d periodically transmit an existence report message informing the 1st port 16 of the node device 10 about the existence of its own device. When the 1st part 16 of the node device 10 cannot receive the existence report message until an elapsed time timer 12 counts a prescribed time, a time monitor means 13 is operated to discriminate the occurrence of the transmission path and an opening connection means 13 interconnects the 1st and 2nd ports 16, 17 to revise the transmission path to transmit a frame via the node device 10.
