PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent impact and delay at start, when the internal combustion engine of a hybrid vehicle is started during driving on power from the motor thereof. SOLUTION: The drive controller for hybrid vehicle, when the hybrid vehicle is driven by transmitting the output of the motor to the power transmission system for driving thereof, is to couple the internal combustion engine with the power transmission system to start the internal combustion engine. The drive controller is provided with a start request judging means for judging requests for starting the internal combustion engine, and an assist amount setting means, that when the start request judging means judges that a request to start the internal combustion engine has been made, increases the output torque of the motor by a motoring torque determined, based on the target number of revolutions of the internal combustion engine or a torque equal to torque obtained by adding an inertial torque which corresponds to the rate of change in the number of revolutions of the internal combustion engine to the motoring torque (Step 074). |
