摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which can reduce the dispersion, caused by the influence of S/N ratio, of the read value of the image of a manuscript after shading compensation, in an image processor which performs peak hold system of shading compensation. SOLUTION: This image processor is equipped with a peak value computing means (S4) which computes the peak value P0 of the read value of a reference concentration panel. This is equipped with a storage means which stores the peak value P0. This is equipped with an average value computing means (S2) which computes the average value A0 of the read value of the reference concentration panel. This is equipped with a differential data computing means (S5) which computes the differential data deft between the peak value P0 and the average value A0. This is equipped with a correction factor setting means (S9) which makes the peak value P0 stored in the storage means shading compensation reference data, and varies and sets the correction factor to decide the target value of a white level, using this compensation reference data and the differential data delt. This is equipped with a compensating means which compensates the read value of the image of a manuscript, using the above correction factor.
