PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing unit and method, and a computer readable recording medium capable of easily specifying image data stored in a memory without increasing work volume. SOLUTION: The method comprises a step S6 for detecting image reading condition data, a step S7 for extracting predetermined data from the image data, a step S8 for forming index data including the predetermined data and the reading condition data, and a step S9 for printing the index data.
