PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal processor through which an image, that has no degradation and has an appropriate video quality, is optimally displayed on a display panel for input video signals regardless of their signal forms. SOLUTION: The video signal display device 1 has a clamping means 11 which clamps video signals, an AD converting means 13 which AD converts the clamped video input signals, a video processing means 15, a synchronization extracting means 21 which extracts horizontal and vertical synchronization signals from video inputs and horizontal and vertical synchronization signals, an edge reference clamp pulse generating means 23 which generates trailing edge reference clamp pulses using the horizontal synchronization signals outputted from the means 21 and a video region detecting means 31 which detects a video region employing the horizontal and vertical synchronization signals outputted from the means 21. The position of the trailing edge of the trailing edge reference clamp pulses is determined by the video region detected by the means 31.
