The procedure for the distribution in a vehicle of multimedia records from a collection of records corresponding to defined geographical positions entails dividing the given territory into zones (ZA-ZD) which may or may not have adjoining borders, detecting the presence of the vehicle in at least one of the zones with access identification wholly or partly from the access record taken by the vehicle for entering into the zone, associating with each access or access record a distinct multimedia record concerning the zone, and selecting the multimedia information for distribution in the vehicle. An Independent claim is included for equipment to carry out the proposed procedure and which includes a storage system for information relating to the territory, evaluation of the zones and particular geographical positions to which are linked the multimedia records.
