PURPOSE: A common voltage compensation circuit of a liquid crystal display is provided to detect a variation in current caused by a variation in common voltage so as to compensate for the common voltage, thereby restricting crosstalk and improving display efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A common voltage compensation circuit of a liquid crystal display(32) includes a common voltage generator(31) for receiving a gate driving control signal to generate a driving signal of each pixel of the liquid crystal display, and a current variation detector(33) for detecting a current variation in the common voltage output from the common voltage generator to convert the detected current variation into voltage. The circuit further includes a maximum value detector(34) for detecting positive and negative maximum current values from the output signal of the current variation detector, and a compensation signal generator(35) for changing the maximum current values into a square wave having the same phase as the phase of the gate driving control signal to add the square wave to the gate driving control signal.
