DEMULTIPLEXER AND RECEIVER USING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a demultiplexer that can be used without being restricted by a pre-stage circuit. SOLUTION: A TS header purser circuit 152 that applies separation analysis to the header of a TS packet includes a detection circuit 153 that detects the head byte of the TS packet. There are two kinds (TS signals A, B) of TS signals coming from the circuit at the pre-stage. The TS signal A consists of TS data, a TS clock signal, a TS valid signal and a TS start signal, and the TS signal B consists of TS data, a TS clock signal and a TS valid signal. The detection circuit 153 has a 1st detection signal 153a that uses the TS start signal to detect the head byte of the TS packet and a 2nd detection section 153b that uses the TS valid signal to detect the head byte of the TS packet. Upon the receipt of the TS signal A, the 1st detection section 153a is selected and used, and when the TS signal B is received, the 2nd detection section 153b is selected and used.
