PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Japanese processor, etc., which can generate a highly precise homogeneous summary having a desired summary rate even for a sentence of complicated constitution. SOLUTION: On the basis of a word and part-of-speech information obtained by a morpheme analyzing means 10, a grammar interpreting means 12 detects the participial sentence of the sentence according to the Japanese grammatical rule to detect the principal sentence of the sentence and a subordinate sentence having a hierarchical structure. A summary sentence generating means 8 generates the summary sentence having the specific summary rate as to the sentence on the basis of the relationship between the hierarchical structure of modification of the sentence and the detailedness of the meaning of the sentence according to the hierarchical structure of modification of the sentence. Therefore, even for a sentence having a hierarchical structure of complicated modification, a precise summary sentence having a desired summary rate can be generated on the basis of the relation between the determined hierarchical structure of modification of the sentence and the detailedness of the meaning of the sentence according to the determined hierarchical structure. Further, the summary rate is determined by paying attention to only the hierarchical structure of modification of the sentence, and hence the homogeneity of the summary is guaranteed even when the summary rate is different. |
