PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a color selection mechanism that will not cause unevenness caused by rust on the surface of the aperture which has received blackening process, and to provide a cleaning method of the aperture grille. SOLUTION: The manufacturing and cleaning method comprises a process PR1, in which the metal thin plate undergoes an etching process by a prescribed pattern and an aperture grille is formed, a process PR2 in which the aperture grille adhered with the disposal liquid of the etching treatment is cleaned, a process PR6 in which the grille raw material of the aperture grille is fitted to the frame with a prescribed applied tension and a process PR7, in which the color selection mechanism of which the frame is fitted with the aperture grille is treated with a blackening treatment at a heating temperature range of 400-500 deg.C. And in the cleaning process of the aperture grille, the aperture grille is cleaned by a cleaning water that substantially does not contain chlorine.
