摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a thermoelectric material having high performance index. SOLUTION: A material is sealed up in a vessel (process S10), the sealed-up material is melted to form a BiTe alloy molten liquid (process S12), and the BiTe alloy molten liquid is rotated while cooled (process S14) to manufacture a thermoelectric material. Since the BiTe alloy molten liquid is cooled while shaken, the molten liquid coagulates with no stable liquid surface, thus crystal growth is suppressed. So average crystal grain size of the manufactured thermoelectric material is smaller. As a result, a phonon heat conductivity becomes lower, leading to a lower heat conductivityκwhile smaller gap between crystal particles keeps electric conductivityσhigh. As a result, a thermoelectric material of high performance index is manufactured.
