PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a WWW system, a traffic relief method for WWW server and a WWW server for utilizing the hardware resources effectively to attain a highly effective operation of a system where the WWW server decides dynamically a proxy server that holds the data requested by a client and thereby a fast access of large traffic variance is requested for the WWW server. SOLUTION: When an access request is given from a client 11 in a state where a WWW server 12 has large traffic, the server 12 refers to an access list 12A in response to a URL that received the access request from the client 11 and checks whether a proxy server 13 that accessed the same URL before exists or not. When the relevant server 13 exists, the IP address and port number of the server 13 are returned to the client 11 having the access request.
