<p>Catalyst compositions that are effective for the conversion of methanol to light olefins (e.g. ethylene) are disclosed. The catalysts comprise a crystalline metalloaluminophosphate molecular sieve (e.g. SAPO-34) and a matrix material comprising an inorganic oxide binder and a filler, preferably a clay (e.g. kaolin). It has been discovered that by maintaining the content of the molecular sieve at 40 % or less by weight, the overall catalyst attrition resistance is markedly improved.</p> |
