<p>It is found out that LKB1 specifically inhibits the Ras/MEK/ERK signal transduction pathway. It is suggested that this inhibition is caused by the action of LKB1 on the dowstream of MEK1 in the above signal transduction pathway and, therefore, depends on the kinase activity of LKB1. Based on these facts, it is possible to develop drugs control the MEK/ERK signal by using LKB1 as a target. These drugs are usable in treating various diseases including PJS in which the MEK/ERK signal participates.</p> |
