A mobile communication terminal having an adaptive array antenna. This mobile communication terminal (100) receives a desired signal by weighting/synthesizing the individual signals of antennas (101, 102) using a weight vector obtained at the receiving time. At the transmitting time, the mobile communication terminal performs the array transmission/reception, in which the transmission signal is weighted and synthesized by using the weight vector at the receiving time and is transmitted. If an error detection circuit (109) detects the reception error of the desired signal at the receiving time, a transmission control unit (116) turns off a switch (122) of the antenna (102), and transmits the transmission signal from the antenna (101) with a non-directivity pattern. As a result, the transmission signal can reach the target base station without giving any interference to others even if a reception error occurs.
