<p>The present invention includes a display for viewing information, where a number of lines on the display has a variable line resolution scale. Each of the number of lines corresponds to a value of information, such as angle degrees relative to the horizon line of the sky in the context of avionics, for example. In addition, the present invention may include a value indicator positioned within the number of lines on the display such that the value indicator designates a value of information. Each distance between each of the number of lines may vary, so that the line resolution of the number of lines near the value indicator, for example, is greater than the line resolution further removed from the value indicator. By varying the line resolution using a distortion function, values of information on the display may be more precisely read.</p> |
