An implantable deflecting device for positioning in the vicinity of an arterial bifurcation for causing embolic material flowing toward a first branch of the bifurcation to be deflected into the second branch of the same bifurcation. The device comprises a deflecting filtering element suitable to deflect the flow of embolic material flowing toward said second branch, whil e filtering the blood flowing toward said first branch. The device comprising a braided tubular body having a contracted state with a first diameter, and an expanded state having a second diameter greater than said first diameter.</S DOAB>
