<p>A projector having a computer comprises an internal storage device where a basic system to be executed first in the computer at the start of the projector and a first control system started according to the processing of the basic system, for controlling the operation of the projector are stored; and a memory control device for reading the information stored in a portable memory. At the start of the projector before the first control system is started, the basic system reads out the information stored a specific area of the portable memory loaded in the memory control device, judges whether or not the information stored in the specific area is specific information. If the information in the specific area is the predetermined information, the basic system starts a second control system stored in the portable memory in place of the first control system. With this construction, a new operating system can be utilized by the projector.</p> |
