The assembly device has a paddle wheel (10) to which 2 folded products to be assembled are supplied from defined feed points (X1,X2) at the periphery of the paddle wheel, each folded product reaching its feed point via a separate feed path. The distance between the end of one of the feed paths and the associated feed point and/or the conveyor band velocities for the different feed path sections are varied for ensuring that the folded products reach the defined feed points in synchronism.
