The overhead line identification method uses an image sensor, e.g. a laser scanner, for scanning the field of view in front of the aircraft, with evaluation of the obtained image data in combination with the output data of the navigation system, for eliminating measuring points representing the ground and detecting image points representing an overhead line using a Hough transformation.
