The invention relates to an external actuator for a door comprising a handle (15) located on the exterior of an external door cladding (35) and a support (20) fixed to the interior of the door. The handle (15) is provided with two levers (11, 12), which are threaded through two openings in the external door cladding (35) for assembly and define a bearing axis (29) after assembly, said axis running through the free lever ends and the extensions (21, 22) on the support (20). A cover (30) is fixed onto one end of the support (20). To produce a cost-effective actuator, a bearing part (40) is mounted in a fixed manner onto each lever end of the handle (15) and a counter-bearing (24) is mounted in a fixed manner onto each extension (21, 22) of the support (20). Said parts have coupling surfaces which complement each other and determine the bearing axis (29) of the handle (15) when they are engaged. These coupling surfaces can be interlocked in a positive fit in the direction of the bearing axis (29). The bearing parts (40) are preferably configured in one piece with the handle (15) and the counter-bearing parts (24) in one piece with the support (20). There is thus no need for a preassembly.
