The heating system has at least one fuel reservoir (12,34) and a burner (10) for operation with a gas and/or liquid fuel, integrated in common unit together with an electric heating device (22,24) operated from an electric battery and/or a mains supply, e.g. by incorporating the electric heating device in a boiler chamber (16) associated with the burner. An Independent claim for an automobile provided with a mobile heating device is also included.
