An extension circuit (1) converts the signals of an SO interface, into an UKO interface whose communication range is comparatively larger than that of the SO interface. An additional network termination (6) converts the signals of UKO interface into SO interface, such that the end systems can be operated at the SO interface without limitations for the services available at the ISDN base connection.
