The dashboard of a vehicle, or a similar part, consists of a material with a component of amorphous filler. The volume of the filler is chosen, so that when under load of a kinetic energy, the rigidity of the part is reduced and the kinetic energy is converted into inherent deformation of the part. The amorphous filler component in a plastic material mixture is more 75% of weight. The part may consist of safety glass. The vehicle part is subjected to collision with a passenger (11). It may be a dashboard (12), a knee protection panel, or a cover plate for an airbag module. The part may have a core made from the amorphous material, with a partially enclosing jacket of a softer synthetic material.
