A gumming device (1) wherein a gumming roller (17) is fitted in rotary manner to a frame (2) so as to rotate about its own longitudinal axis (18), and presents a substantially cylindrical outer surface (19) for receiving an adhesive substance; a scraper element (58) is positioned substantially contacting the outer surface (19) and downstream, in a traveling direction of the outer surface (19), from a device (21) for supplying the adhesive substance, to remove the adhesive substance from the outer surface (19); and the scraper element (58) is guided in a direction (55) crosswise to the longitudinal axis (18) of the gumming roller (17) by a guide device (3, 4), and is moved along the guide device (3, 4) by an elastic push device (60) for automatically taking up any slack between the scraper element (58) and the outer surface (19) of the gumming roller (17). <IMAGE> |
