The method for collecting and transporting material (9) uses a known suction system (4) to feed it into a wheeled tank. This is made up of separate upper (1) and lower (3) sections and clamps (10, 11) mounted at the front and rear of the tank on a support frame (8) press the rim (17) of the lower section against a seal (14) on the rim of the upper section. The clamps can be unfastened to release the vacuum and allow the material to be removed. An Independent claim is included for a device for carrying the process as described above.
