Composite safety glass pane, comprises 2 sheets of glass with an intermediate polymer layer with line(s) of weakness. The polymer layer comprises 2 transparent polymers with different tear resistances, elongation at break, and resistance to tearing. The material with lower values is used at the line of weakness. Areas of glass with no intermediate polymer layer contain granules of harder material. A composite safety glass pane, comprises two sheets of glass (3, 4) with an intermediate layer of polymer (5) with at least one line of weakness (8). The polymer layer is made from two different transparent polymers with different tear resistances (according to DIN 53504 v 03/85, measured using standard bar S2 at a speed of 100 mm/minute at 23 deg C), elongation at break (according to the same standard, measured in the same way), and resistance to tearing (according to DIN 53356 v 08/82, measured on a 2 mm thick sheet with a speed of tearing of 400 mm/minute at 23 deg C). The material with the lower values for these properties is used at the line of weakness. The glass at the positions with no intermediate polymer layer contains granules of a harder material. An Independent claim is included for the production of the pane, comprises: (a) molding a polymer sheet for use in the line of weakness and cutting it into strips; (b) introducing hard granules into sheets of glass at desired positions; (c) positioning the polymer strips between the sheets and pressing; and (d) filling the remaining space between the panes with a polymer with higher mechanical properties, and curing it.
