A method of winding up a copper foil on a core capable of providing a copper foil roll with excellent wind-up balance by minimizing the occurrence of wind-up wrinkles near the core of the copper foil as the final product of copper foil, characterized by comprising the steps of sticking first and second pressure sensitive adhesive double coated tapes with separating sheet of the same length as the width of the wound-up copper foil on a core outer peripheral surface so as to be positioned parallel with the longitudinal center axis of the core, sticking the first pressure sensitive adhesive double coated tape with separating sheet to the wind-up start end part of the copper foil, removing the separating sheet from the second pressure sensitive adhesive double coated tape, rotating the core generally one turn in the state of the copper foil being tensed, temporarily stopping the rotation at a position where the second pressure sensitive adhesive double coated tape with separating sheet is overlapped with the coper foil, sufficiently sticking the second pressure sensitive adhesive double coated tape with separating sheet to the copper foil so as the splice the wind-up start end side copper foil with the core in the state of being fixedly wound on the core, and winding up the copper foil in roll shape.
