A polishing device capable of smoothly polishing a painted surface by an eas y operation, comprising a base member drivingly rotated by a drive device and having an installation surface orthogonal to the rotating shaft of the drive device, an elastic member installed on the base member, and a polishing memb er installed on the elastic member, the elastic member further comprising groov e parts opening to a polishing member side and extending from the center of th e elastic member in the direction of the peripheral edge thereof, wherein the opening edges of the groove parts are formed of linear lines extending from the center of the elastic member to the peripheral edge thereof.
