A supporting device for a manually operated saw comprises a table 10 having two pairs of legs 11 with elongate supports 12, a saw positioning means 20 pivotable underneath table 10. The saw positioning means 20 includes two parallel rails 22, a spring 24 between rails 22, and a stopper 23 for biasing and defining the spring 24 therein. A saw is guided between a pair of posts 21 on either end of saw positioning means 20. In use, a pushing member 253 is pushed inward until stopping block 254 clears a notch 13, and then saw positioning means 20 is pivoted to a desired angle. Then the pushing member 253 is released for pulling it back to its original position by the expansion of spring 24, so that stopping block 254 engages with another notch 13. This enables a user to perform an oblique sawing. A sliding block (30, figure 9) and a protection member, (50, figure 9) may also be provided for facilitating sawing and protecting the table respectively. |
