The present invention relates to an apparatus and method used to measure and identify sources (signal source A, signal source B) of communications interference. In one embodiment a test instrument includes multiple receivers (Receiver #1, Receiver #2), designed for reception of radiated radio signals in free space. The resulting measured signals are processed to determine if there is a mathematical and/or timing relationship between the parent transmitter(s) suspected of causing the interference (Hypothetical Out-of-Band Emissions from A), and the actual measured interference Measured Out-of-Band Emissions from A) in the spectrum being evaluated, and providing a ranked list of possible interferers (Assigned score to Emitter A). |
