A system (10) is disclosed for obtaining information over a computer network. The system (10) includes means (12) for facilitating selection by a user of required type of information, means (12) for gathering request details from a user, means (12) for storing the gathered request details in a first database (24) and means (16) for obtaining the required type of information from a plurality of predetermined web-sites (18, 20). Each predetermined web-site (18, 20) is capable of providing the required type of information, and the means (16) for obtaining the required type of information is arranged, in use, to populate data request fields of the web-sites (18, 20) based on the stored request details.
