PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction cover in a submergible pump and a fixing structure for a strainer capable of keeping a shaft directional dimension of a rubber pump casing constant, capable of preventing deformation by internal pressure and fixing the strainer in a boltless mode according to fixing operation of the suction cover. SOLUTION: A reinforcing wall 6 arranged on the outer periphery of a rigid body seal plate 5 is allowed to abut to an outer peripheral surface of a pump casing peripheral wall constituting member 1 made of an abrasion resistant elastic body, the suction cover 10 possessing rigidity is allowed to abut to an under surface of the peripheral wall constituting member 1, the rigid body strainer 13 is fitted to the outer peripheral surface of the peripheral wall constituting member 1, a fastening bolt 8 is threadedly installed in a bolt threadedly installing hole 9, the pump casing peripheral wall constituting member 1 swells in the radial direction, and is brought into pressure contact with an inner peripheral surface of a peripheral wall of the strainer 13.
