PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gimbals system which can be used for a maintenance station of an ink jet printer. SOLUTION: This gimbals system includes crooked and groove-shaped channels 310, 320, 330 and 340, a supporting spring, and a printing head cap with gimbals pins 610, 620, 630 and 640. The gimbals pins 610, 620, 630 and 640 are meshed respectively with the crooked and groove-shaped channels 310, 320, 330 and 340. The supporting spring applies an urging force to the printing head cap. The printing head cap gimbals about at least two rotation axes 650 and 660 and can move in parallel to a translation axis.
