SOLUTION: This vehicle traveling control device for automatically controlling the acceleration/deceleration or the steering operation by recognizing the environment around the vehicle by a vehicle environment recognizing means comprises an environment recognizing and judging means for judging whether or not the vehicle environment recognizing means can recognize the environment around the vehicle, a lost alarm issuing means for providing the alarm when the vehicle environment recognizing means cannot recognize the environment around the vehicle, an operational reaction measuring means for measuring the operational reaction of the driver until the predetermined time immediately after the lost alarm is issued, an operational reaction evaluating means for evaluating the status of the measured operational reaction, and a setting changing means for changing at least either the subsequent control setting or the alarm setting based on the result of the operational reaction evaluation.</p>
