PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Fe-Ni alloy excellent in low temperature characteristics, further excellent in corrosion resistance, particularly to salt water such as sea water and therefore useful as the material for an LNG vessel or the like. SOLUTION: This Fe-Ni alloy has a componential composition containing, by weight, 0.005 to 0.1% C, 0.05 to 0.4% Si, 0.1 to 0.7% Mn, 30 to 50% Ni, <=0.003% Ca, 0.0001 to 0.002% Mg, 0.001 to 0.03% Al, <=50 ppm 0 and <=0.005% S, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, and in which the greater part of the nonmetallic inclusions included in the alloy is composed of one or two kinds of MgO.Al2O3 and MgO.
